young boys on the juice
24 anabolic steroids are being banned due to younger boys using them to improve there strength in baseball. it has been said that young men are abusing the steroid use and its been a problem ever since major legue players have been put on trial for the use. i think these young players are afiliating with steroids because since they are seeing that to be good in the league the would have to be as strong as there idols, and the only way that this would be possible is by using steroids. i think younger highschool players should also randomly tested. i am a ball player myself, and i will admit that steroids has crossed my mind many times cause of todays competition, but i never see myself comitting this.
government in a steroid tunnel
It seems that steroid investigations matter more to the government than our current war in iraq. not to mention but sports are a multibillion dollar industry that brings in huge amounts of money every year. basically most of theses hearrings are to clear up anything that would make people stop following these sports, cause people wouldnt want to watch drug enhanced athletes. there was a point where baseball and steroids had gotten out of hand. While baseball hasn’t punished its steroid users for their past usage, they’ve laid down strict policies and set up random drug testing to prevent this from happening again. i really think that the government should focus more on the things that count in our country such as troops and our people.
the war on steroids
people dont notice how much money the government is using to fight against steroids. the tax that people pay is being used to fight steroids. while congress focuses on the need to eliminate steroid use from baseball, law enforcement is struggling on byrne a drug task force which fights drugs not only in baseball, but on our streets and neighborhoods. basically the government is using the money we use to pay police officers that protect our streets to pay investigators of steroids. i honestly think this is extremely wrong, i rather have ball players who juice up then to have a criminal who is on drugs and is capable of many negative things.
illegalization of anabolic steroids
Anabolic steroids became illegal in 1990. they were placed in the same class as narcotic pain killers and barbiturates, these drugs were defined as schedule ill subastances. if you were to be caught with anabolic steroids there would be prison time for up to a year and a fine of atleast $1000. and if you sell or intend to sell steroids you would face up to about five years in prison and parole time aswell. each state in america was able to set there own type of law towards anabolic substances, this made people think twice about using steroids because the law depended on the state.
The BALCO steroid scandal

BALCO was basically a steroid cover up for when the players were tested. This was created and founded in 1984 by victor conte and his wife aubry. BALCO began as a vitaman shop called millbrae hollistic, only a year after opening his business Mr.conte closed it down and started BALCO a sport supplement company. Conte created this udetectable supplement so that players who needed to use enhancing drugs wouldnt be acused of using anabolic steroids. just like any other steroid balco too did have its side effects such as,increase of body hair growth, blood clots, weight gain, juandice, high blood pressure, shrinking of testicles and many other side effects which werre not good for the health. two baseball players; Barry Bonds and Jason Giambi were both afiliated with balco, and both were put on trial for the use of the supplement. victor conte did 4 months in prison for selling his illegal merchandise, he is now a free man and balco is pronounced extinct. victor conte is now running a company called "SNAC" (scientific nutrition for advanced conditioning), i am sure he will never mention BALCO to any sports again.
Caminiti killed by the Juice

On october 11th 2004 ken caminiti was pronounced dead by the cause of a heart attack due to steroid use. Caminiti was an ex-mvp of the national league in 1996, and also he was a gold glove winner and was selected to play on the allstar team three times. in 2001 caminiti retired after playing 15 years of major league baseball, right there and then caminiti admited to using steroids after injuring his shoulder while playing with the San Diego Padres. caminiti was the latest baseball player to die due to steroid use. this forced Major League Baseball to stricken the drug testing policy. since caminiti there has not been a player who has past, but there still are players who still use anabolic steroids.

Idols in the Mitchell Report
There were and are a few players in the mitchell report who younger baseball players looked up to as idols. players like jack cust who now owns a great youth baseball organization called Jack Cust baseball league. other players like jason giambi, eric gagne, and troy glaus who were also manyy youth players idols were also in the mitchell report. i honestly think that players being in the mitchell report shouldnt have been exposed the way they are now, because these player were basically a future projection of what us younger players look up to.

big mac admits to steroid use

mark mcgwire adimited to steroid use, stating that almost for a decade he used it on and off. he also said that he was on it at time when he broke baseballs homerun record in 1998. mr. mcgwire now regrets the fact that he had used the steroids cause of all the problems it has brought him. the reason mcgwire admitted to using steroids was beacause he wanted to become the hitting coach of his former team the St louis Cardinals. mcgwire was the second baseball star who admitted to using steroids.
