illegalization of anabolic steroids

Anabolic steroids became illegal in 1990. they were placed in the same class as narcotic pain killers and barbiturates, these drugs were defined as schedule ill subastances. if you were to be caught with anabolic steroids there would be prison time for up to a year and a fine of atleast $1000. and if you sell or intend to sell steroids you would face up to about five years in prison and parole time aswell. each state in america was able to set there own type of law towards anabolic substances, this made people think twice about using steroids because the law depended on the state.
